A retrospective study on cervical cancer screening- In a newly opened tertiary care Centre in Eastern India

: One of the most prevalent cancers, cervical cancer is also leading cause mortality for women in underdeveloped nations. A fundamental test finding infections and precancerous diseases Papanicolaou smear. This study aims to comprehend function screening detecting premalignant, malignant, non-neoplastic lesions as well prevalence different who received a traditional pap smear technique. We screened age group 15-70 years attended Outpatient department Obstetrics Gynaecology AIIMS, Kalyani. All gave consent by Pap were included. Of 2133 cases, cases benign comprising Negative Intraepithelial Lesion or malignancy (NILM) about 1989 (93.24%) 705 (33.05%) inflammatory. Atypical squamous cells undetermined significance 44 (2.06%), cannot exclude HSIL 3 (0.14%), low-grade intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) 11 (0.52%), high-grade (HSIL) 5 (0.23%) glandular cell 7 (0.33%). Out 202 asymptomatic (9.47%), 12 (0.56%) showed epithelial abnormality (8 ASCUS, 2 LSIL, 1 ASCH, 1HSIL) (Odds ratio=0.5056, Significance level, P=0.0362). Conventional very easy cheap diagnostic tool detect various lesions. As per American Cancer Society (ACS), should start from 25 be done till 65 (repeated after every years).
